How We Support Our Young People

We offer personalised support to help young people develop essential life skills needed for full independence as they transition into adulthood. Each individual receives a customised support plan based on a thorough assessment of their unique needs.

Getting Used To New Accommodation

We offer support in accessing local services, being a good neighbour and sharing amenities. Additionally, we support young people to feel safer, happier, healthier and have somewhere they feel they belong.

Financial Management

Each young person’s key worker will support them with budgeting, effective shopping, paying bills, savings, borrowing/interest and accessing benefits.

Housing

We offer support in learning how to use household appliances, maintaining a home including cleanliness, tenancy sustainment, cooking and meal planning.

Education & Employment

Our support includes accessing education and employment, attending interviews, CV writing, career guidance, choosing a course and post 18 education.

Health

Our support includes registering with GP, attending medical appointments, promoting positive lifestyle choices including healthy eating and encouraging positive relationships.

Religion & Culture

We support young people to maintain their culture and religion while encouraging their participation in celebrations, traditional and religious festivals.

Emotional & Social Matters

We discuss any personal or emotional concerns and support young people by signposting them to appropriate services where necessary. We also help in accessing social activities in the local area or beyond.

Personal Goals

Our staff is very supportive in encouraging young people make positive decisions. We also play a role in encouraging and guiding young people towards their goals.

Exploitation

We provide resources and support to help young people navigate and understand child sexual exploitation, child criminal exploitation and county lines.

Emergency/Crisis Placements

We understand that local authorities may not always have the time for an extensive planning process when referring children and young people. In such cases, we accept emergency referrals, provided the manager has completed the necessary history and risk assessment. We will then evaluate whether we can meet their needs.

We provide an immediate, well-planned response, offering high-quality, short-term emergency interventions for young people. This includes bridging placements, time-limited assessments for focused work, or respite for parents and carers. Our aim is to create a support plan to reduce the likelihood of family or placement breakdown. Every child or young person placed with Raisso House Services, whether as an emergency placement or otherwise, will always be welcomed and made to feel comfortable in their new environment.
